Instead of a bespoke or installed CMS, INZU users create an account on inzu.net and manage their site using the inzu.net admin suite. Content and product updates are accessed on the clients' website via the XML or JSON API from INZU, allowing for the presentation of the data in any style or layout with no design restrictions, ensuring complete brand integrity.

The cloud

The cloud style approach INZU uses offers many technical and design advantages over installed and bespoke systems, but there are also significant cost and time savings to be made using INZU.

Development times for content managed sites and e-commerce are reduced to days rather than weeks. Typically a small business website with all sections being up-dateable by the client and with a fully working shop should take around 2-3 days of coding time with the majority of the work being CSS/HTML for the site layout. The footprint on the client side is usually only around 1-2MB, making for an extremely lightweight site that is fast to use.

INZU can even work in conjunction with other CMS packages already installed or with existing bespoke content management systems. Think of the INZU API like a Twitter feed in the way data is accessed. INZU provides a logical and easy-to-understand XML & JSON framework from which you can access data. How you display that data is entirely up to you. Maybe you only need a shop adding to a site or even just an updatable gallery. With INZU you can pick and choose the feeds you want, or you can run an entire site using the system.

Every part of the XML & JSON API's are fully documented at http://developers.inzu.net, allowing for quick reference when building sites and a free downloadable test site is also available, allowing you to have a look at the coding structure used and even test run feeds on one of your own servers before embarking on your first INZU build. These feeds cover the requirements of most small businesses and are flexible in how you use them. For instance, the articles feed can be used for virtually any site page that isn't covered by one of the other main sections, or you may want to create a video entry or news feed for your home page. How you mix and match feeds on your site pages is not restricted, giving you endless creative possibilities.

Because entries can be key-worded, this allows you to add search functions to your site or to sub-categorise sections. For example, you can display galleries on your site depending on what keywords you pass to INZU, so instead of just one gallery section you can have distinct sections on your site that call separate galleries as determined by the keyword settings, such as "Landscapes" or "Portraits".

Other API features include common SQL style methods such as ordering, order type, pagination, select latest, select by entry id, select by category, giving you all the power you need to create and fully fledged dynamic website all passed in a simple URL call e.g
